Liverpool hosted Wigan Athletic at Anfield, as the Reds looked to get back to their winning ways and get themselves closer to the top four once again.
Having not played to the best of their abilities in recent weeks, the team really needed to come out with all guns blazing this time around, and they had to get Luis Suarez to perform once again.
The match kicked off with Liverpool looking pretty threatening early on in the game. The team kept attacking Wigan, but failed to get anything in the first half of the game.
Wigan had a chance or two of their own, but some poor finishing saw the team fail to convert.
As soon as the second half kicked off, it was Liverpool’s man of the hour who went on to score for them once again. Sterling picked up the ball and sprinted forward. He then played a brilliant pass to Suarez, who wasn’t going to miss with the form that he
has been in.
Then in the 59th minute of the game, it was Suarez once again, who went on to score another fine goal for Liverpool, as he looked to single handedly keep the Reds out of the bottom three this season.
Jose Enrique darted forward and then beat of a number of Wigan players. The full back then played a rolling pass to Suarez, who claimed the ball, before calmly slotting a finish into the right side of the goal.

by the keeper, but Enrique managed to make another overlapping run on the far post, as he slotted the rebound in.
As a result of that third goal from Enrique, Liverpool went on to win the game by three goals to nil. Once again, Luis Suarez proved to be the team’s knight in shining armour, which is why it was now the team’s priority to keep a hold of him in January.
