Newcastle United took on Manchester United at home, as both the sides were desperate to pick up all three points from the game.

Given the way Newcastle managed to humiliate Manchester United last season, the game was bound to be an interesting one.

Just when it looked like things might stabilize for Newcastle, United went on to score another goal in the game.

The second half saw a very controversial decision take place, as Cisse went on to head a rebound into the back of the net, only to see De Gea claw it out of the goal. Initially it seemed like the ball didn’t cross the line, but replays suggested that the
goal should have been awarded to the home side.
Nonetheless, United didn’t care as they continued to bombard forward. In the 70th minute, Rooney passed the ball to Cleverley, who looked up and attempted to whip in a cross towards Van Persie. However, his poorly hit cross went on to bend just
enough to sail into the top corner of the goal.
As a result of that goal, United went on to pick up all three points, following a three goals to nil win in the game.
The result saw United move up into the second spot in the league, while Newcastle went on to claim the tenth spot.
