Premier League News: Arsenal looking to land German international Lukas Podolski
It is being reported that Arsenal are currently setting their sights on German forward, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lukas-Podolski-c22896. The striker who is currently employed by FC Koln in the German Bundesliga, has been linked to a number of teams over the last couple of seasons, but a
move never really materialized for the player. However it seems like Arsenal feel that Podolski is just the player that they need, to try and boost their attacking options and get them in contention to lift some form of silverware next season.
When talking about Koln and his future at the club, Podolski is reported to have said: “Being at Koln does me good. It’s my club, it my town”
“If it’s up to me, I’ll still be here next season. Where I’d go if I opted to leave after all? Without wanting to sound arrogant, I could succeed at a big European club, in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011.”
Over the last couple of weeks, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 have been reported to be on the look out to bring in some offensive reinforcements, in order to help provide some experience up-front and in order to make Arsenal’s even more lethal than they already are up-front.
For this very reason, Podolski seems to be the ideal player to do that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684. The forward can play in a number of positions, ranging from the left wing, the attacking midfield role and even as an all out striker.
At the moment http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380 is Arsenal’s first-choice striker, but the player has suffered a number of injury problems in his careers, which at this point have deemed him to be rather fragile. As a result, the Gunners need a player who can come in to
the side and fill in for the player when he is missing in action.
Despite Koln having finished in the tenth spot in the German Bundesliga, it seems like Podolski might finally want to push himself to the limits, before his footballing career comes to an end. The player is quite possibly never going to be able to achieve
that dream by staying at Koln, which means he might just end up making the move to the Emirates.
So far Podolski has had two spells with Koln, having played with them from 2003-2006 and then re-joining them in 2009. During his two spells with the team, the forward has made, hundred and forty three appearances for the team, while scoring sixty six goals
along the way.
Nonetheless, it is now going to be a wait till the end of the season to see if this rumour holds any weight at all.
