Premier League News - Fulham, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United
Fulham
Fulham’s next fixture would be a tough one when they travel to the other side of the capital to face West Ham United. Even though West Ham currently sits dangerously close to the relegation zone, they had to face some tough opponents in the form of Manchester
United, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspurs in their 6 fixtures so far. Fulham player Zoltan Gera thus expects an exciting fixture against West Ham United that should not to be underestimated owing to their position in the premier league table.
"They have a new manager and some new players and I think they need time. It's going to be a tough game for us, no question. They have very good individual players and if they're playing well, it's difficult to play against them. Looking at the table, Everton
started badly but Everton are a very good team. West Ham, I think are in the same situation. They struggled with the start but I'm sure they will be a much better team than the table shows at the moment. It's very important to start well against them and frustrate
the home crowd. We want to win this game; there is no question about that. We want to be better than the last few years away from home. Hopefully the players will be ready for this," claimed the 31-year-old attacking midfielder.
Liverpool
Liverpool star striker Fernando Torres is expected to make his first Europa league appearance for his club in the encounter at Utrecht. However, club captain Steven Gerrard wouldn’t be available for the fixture, who along with Daniel Agger remains the only
two “first team” players not joining their teammates for the Europa league match. Apart from that, Roy Hodgson has named a pretty strong squad for the encounter as he looks to wrap things up for the group. With Agger unavailable and Paul Konchesky and Fabio
Aurelio injured, Martin Kelly would be expected to take the position of the left back. World Cup finalist Dirk Kuyt, who has only recently made a successful come back from shoulder concerns, would be featuring in the match to face his former club.
Manchester City
Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has expressed his hope of having Mario Balotelli back in the ranks by next month. The 24 million pound transfer from Inter Milan has been ruled out of action with a knee issue and it was expected that the player may
have been out for 8 weeks. The manager has given his take on the issue and stated that the player is currently in Italy and his knee recovery is coming on fine. The manager added that he expected the player to be fit by the end of next month.
Manchester United
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has praised the ability and influence of Javier Chicharito Hernandez when the Mexican scored the first Champions league goals against Valencia. His 85th goal provided United with a win against Valencia,
which was only their second triumph against a Spanish team on Spanish soil in the last 19 games. Hernandez replaced Anderson in the midfield on the 80th minute and his goal proved to be the difference maker between the two sides, which led to United
topping Group C in the Champions league. United would now be facing Turkish side Bursaspor in back-to-back fixtures and even though United would’ve been delighted with a draw, it was a substitution act for the Premier league giants.
Federico Macheda set up the Mexican inside the box, who then managed a quick but neat finish to hand the Red Devils with a win. The manager stated that the second half was better than the first and the injection of Hernandez provided United with more penetration.
Ferguson added that his side didn’t make many chances overall but always posed a threat whenever they were on the attack. The manager explained that apart from the goal, Hernandez provided the side with the much needed penetration and there was a moment in
the match where he left their defence confused, owing to his speed. That is exactly what is expected from their substitutes as they change the overall schematics of the game owing to their energy and speed.
