Premier League News: Gael Clichy tells Arsenal he wants out
Arsenal full-back and French international, Gael Clichy has gone on to state that he wants out of the Emirates. The player, who had spent Arsenal chasing him for a couple of months, to extend his current contract with the club, has finally revealed that
he no longer wishes to be a part of the team.
At the moment, the defender only has one year left on his contract, however instead of penning down a new deal, he is said to have told the club that he is no longer interested in sticking around.
In fact, according to sources close to the player, it is now impossible for him to change his mind and that a move away is the only solution in the cards for the defender.
In making his desires known, Clichy follows in the footsteps of Denilson and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429, in order to save their careers.
Clichy started off the season in rather terrible fashion, however, as the season progressed, the defender went on to prove just how good he really is. The player’s most notable performance was the second-leg encounter between Arsenal and Manchester United
at the Emirates. Throughout the game, United tried to attack Clichy and tried to expose his weaknesses. However, with the defender not stuttering even once, he helped the Gunners record a one goal to nil over the eventual winner of the Premier League.
At the moment, the defender is being valued in at around six million pounds by the experts. However, that fee is expected to rise significantly, considering the fact that a number of teams are looking to pursue the player and in doing so, could potentially
trigger a bidding war over his signature.
Should the player decide to part ways with the team, all hope will not be lost. This is because http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kieran-Gibbs-c20945, the defender understudy at the club, seems to have come a long way from being a back-up and looks to be more than just competent at filling in for
Clichy. The Gunners also have Armand Traore returning from Juventus at the end of the season – where he was sent on loan.
All in all, it seems like there is going to be life in the Gunners squad, even if Clichy is sold. It is now going to be a wait to see what teams decide to go head to head, to land the players signature.
