Premier League News: Jose Mourinho 'will succeed Ferguson' eventually – Wesley Sneijder
Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho will undoubtedly be succeeding Sir Alex Ferguson as the manager of Manchester United in the near future, according to 2010 FIFA World Cup superstar Wesley Sneijder.
Sir Alex Ferguson has been in charge at Manchester United and has been the faithful manager of the club for twenty-four years now; it is certain that the sixty-eight year old manager’s retirement is nearing as the days go by.
There has been some major speculation regarding the fact that someone has to step up to the plate and take over the realm of the position that would be empty. Countless managers have been linked to the job in the past, but Mourinho's name shines the brightest amongst them all.
According to Sneijder, who has played under Jose Mourinho as Inter Milan and won the treble with the manager, the Portuguese man is the right man for the job.
Sneijder recently told the Daily Star Sunday in an interview: ''I have had many deep and long conversations with Jose and I would put money on him taking over from Ferguson. I know the job he would want is to be Manchester United manager.
"To be honest, he is probably the only coach in the world who is capable of taking over from Alex Ferguson.
''When Ferguson retires, in my mind, it's a deal already done in people's heads. One world-class manager leaves and another one takes over.
''I know Alex Ferguson will have a big say in who takes over from him - and, even though they have their differences, there is a big mutual respect.''
The former Chelsea manager is now currently in charge of Real Madrid and he has made his desire clear to one day return to the Premier League. This begs everyone to ask the question: will he really be in charge of United one day? And just how successful with United be under the manager?
Sneijder later added, "I know how excited he is to get back to the Premier League. When he talked about it, he was like a little kid. He was so excited. It really turns him on.''
Whether the manager decides to join the team and make Sneijder’s prediction come true remains to be seen, because for now it is nothing more than just wishful thinking on the Dutch International’s part.
