Premier League News: Krisztian Nemeth wants to shine for Liverpool; not interested in Leece transfer
The new Liverpool forward Krisztian Nemeth has said that he is eager to make his presence known at the club and ascend in the echelons of the club and enter the first squad.
The Hungarian player’s agent, Tibor Pataky, has said that the player is ready to make himself a dominating figure at the club, and is hopeful that his career at Anfield will prove to be a shining beacon that will lead Kop away from its current worries and miseries.
The 21 year old player has been presented with a 2 million pound offer from the Italian club Leece, but Pataky has confirmed that the future star will not be taking the offer as he is certain that he wants to spend his future with Liverpool. However, he did say that if things go to the far end, a short term loan could be put on the table as an option.
While talking to the media, Pataky stated, “Krisztian has a very clear opinion; he wants to stay as a Liverpool player, and his wish is to be successful as a Liverpool player, if Liverpool will give him a chance to fight”.
“For now he is back at (Liverpool's training ground) Melwood, he is working hard and looking forward. If he feels he will get a chance to make the jump into the first team, he will do everything he can to do so. But if not, then he is happy to go for maybe half a season to another club on loan,” he added.
Nemeth played for AEK Athens at Greece last season, where he scored 3 goals in 17 games, but it was his overall performance that became the reason for his magnificence.
AEK Athens have said that they are more than just interested in having the player back to play for their club, and they aren’t the only ones that are keeping an eye on the player. As a matter of fact, Italian clubs from Serie A are trying to sign in the player too.
Pataky has confirmed that there are offers being made by other clubs, but at the moment, Liverpool FC will have the final control and say over the player’s future.
The agent said, “There have been no discussions with Roy Hodgson yet, but we know a lot about the philosophy of the manager from (Fulham's Hungarian player) Zoltan Gera. But we must stress, first it is for Liverpool FC to decide on Krisztian's future”.
The player’s agent said that Nemeth right now has complete faith in the club, and if the issue ever arises about his return to AEK Athens, they will have to plan for it then. He also said that they were not looking for a transfer for an Italian club, but that didn’t suggest that they were passing on offers made by them; on the contrary, they were actually having a look at them as you never know if something worth looking for pops out.
Pataky said that the player has complete trust in himself, but he is also a realist and of course will have a look at his options and opportunities. He said that if the Liverpool board tells him that he has a chance to play for the fist team he will not let the teammates down, but he also said that if the board turns him down he will respectfully oblige to the decision.
Nemeth is preparing for his country, Hungary, at the international level, and it is hoped that he will play an important part of the qualification stages for Euro 2012.
Pataky commented, “Of course the Hungarian national team is very important to him. He will now fight for a place in the squad for the Euro 2012 qualification matches”.
