Premier League News: Lazio looking to tempt Arsenal over Marouane Chamakh
It is being reported that French side, Lazio are looking to test Arsenal’s resolve over Moroccan striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marouane-Chamakh-c24294 at the end of the season.
The forward joined the Gunners as part of a free transfer at the start of the season, after having a more than impressive run-in with Bordeaux. However, despite having a blistering start to his career at the Emirates, he has lately been left out of all the
matches Arsenal have played. If the forward is brought on, then it is as a second half substitute and that too, only for a couple of minutes.
As a result of this, it seems like Lazio are going to be willing to make an offer for the player. This is despite the fact that Chamakh has not scored a single goal in the Premier League, since November.
Nonetheless, at the same time, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lazio-c39775 are rumoured to be facing some competition for the player from an unnamed English side as well. According to most experts, should either team be willing to make an offer for the player, they would have to part way with
as much as nine million pounds to land his services.
Since making his move to the Emirates, the twenty seven year old striker has gone on to make 42 appearances for the Gunners, while scoring 11 goals along the way and picking up 4 assists as well. However most of those appearances have been as second-half
substitutes and as a result, these stats don’t do justice to Chamakh’s ability.
The towering striker possesses tremendous ability when it comes to holding the ball and using his body to ward of opposing defenders. He can win countless free-kicks in a game and often tends to get his opponents in the referee’s books, due to his quick
feet and sharp thinking. At the same time, Chamakh is still easily one of the best headers of the ball in the game at the moment.
It is a shocker as to why the player has not been incorporated into the Arsenal starting eleven more frequently, but, it seems to be rather pointless at this stage.
However, should Wenger opt not to offload the striker, then perhaps he could rethink his tactics. At the moment, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380 as an all out striker, which has often lead to great moments, while at times it has ended in disaster for the club.
Now, should Wenger try and incorporate both Chamakh and Van Persie in his line-up, then perhaps the goals could start flowing for the Gunners, once again.
Nonetheless, all of that would only be possible, should Chamakh stick around the Emirates for another season or two.
