Premier League News- Newcastle sign Dan Gosling while Sunderland end pursuit of Sol Campbell

Newly promoted Premier League side, Newcastle United officially announced the signing of Dan Gosling, who previously played for Everton.
Gosling is the second signing of Newcastle United after being promoted to the Premier League this season, and the midfielder has signed a four year contract with the club. James Perch was the first signing of the club earlier in the summer, who joined Newcastle from Nottingham Forest.
Gosling was humbled with the signings and was relishing the dream. The midfielder claimed that the move was brilliant for his young career, and now that everything is in place, the player just wants to get on with it and play football for his new club. Dan added that he had already played at St James Park in his time with Everton, and was delighted with the atmosphere at the club.
The 20 year old stated that playing in Newcastle’s colours is something that he has already thought about, and expects to play at his best. Gosling added that it will be a good feeling to walk in front of 50,000 people jam packed in the St. James stadium, and will do his outmost for his new club.
He praised Chris Hughton and other players who welcomed the newly signed midfielder and made him feel at home. The 20 year old was humbled by the squad’s warm welcome, and hopes to repay all of the players’ faith by playing on the top level.
The player left Everton owing to some bizarre turn of events at the start of July. The Premier League asked Everton to make a written agreement with the player, but nothing was given to him in writing.
The club claimed that they had agreed a deal with the 20 year old verbally, but Premier League refused to accept such an arrangement. The player therefore became a free agent, and Newcastle was quick to snap up the midfielder.  The starlet made 22 appearances for Everton since joining in 2008, from Plymouth.
In other news, Sunderland manager Steve Bruce has officially stated that he has ended his interest in signing 35 year old Arsenal defender Sol Campbell, and has signed Titus Bramble instead.
The defender was a free agent; after fulfilling his short term contract at his former club reports stated that Sunderland were interested in a deal for the veteran.
However, owing to some unknown complications, the deal did not go through as expected. Bruce in turn signed Wigan Athletic Centre back Titus Bramble, who reportedly signed Sunderland for a 1 million pound deal.
Bramble has played in Newcastle previously, and is to join the Black Cats, following medical. The 28 year old has been sensational in his time for Wigan, has played over 95 times for his former club, and has scored 5 important goals. The defender stands tall at 6”2’ and has a strong built. In his time with Newcastle United, Bramble played over 105 matches, scoring 3 times.
Bruce was vocal about the new signings, claiming that now that they have signed Bramble, the pursuit for Campbell has ended. Bruce claimed that he talked to Campbell, but preferred Bramble above the 35 year old, and was happy with the new signing.
Bruce therefore confirmed that Sunderland is no longer looking for Sol Campbell. Bruce managed Wigan for two years back in 2007, and had worked with Bramble.
The manager praised the defender’s ability and labelled the deal to be fantastic for the club. Steve added that the defender has played some outstanding football over the years, and expects the 28 year old to be an instant success at the Stadium of light.
"He was certainly the right player at the right price for me.", claimed Sunderland manager Steve Bruce. Bruce aims to finish better than he did last season, after his side finished 13th last season.
