Premier League Player Ratings: Liverpool 2-2 Everton – Part 2
Everton must have been happy with the result, considering the lack of chances they created and the number of chances http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 missed. With this result, they stay ahead of their arch rivals on goal difference in the premier league table.
In part 2 we look at how the Everton players fared in this game. Here are their player ratings.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tim-Howard-c35095: 6.0
Gave away the penalty pretty cheaply but can’t have any arguments about it. However, he made some good saves in the match, including a fizzing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 drive.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Phil-Neville-c29904: 6.0
A mixed night for the former Manchester United player, who was abused by the home supporters in the first half. However, after some nervy moments, his experience came into play and he did a reasonable job for the team.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/John-Heitinga-c18862: 5.5
The Dutchman never looked comfortable in the first half especially when he had his face towards his own goal. However, he was strong in the tackle and won his fair share of headers.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sylvain-Distin-c34430: 6.0
He was shrugged off by Torres when the Spaniard struck the post, but was solid otherwise. He was a touch lucky that his mistakes did not cost Everton dearly but made amends with a well struck header to make the score line 1-1.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Leighton-Baines-c21987: 6.0
Not at his usual best, Baines never really got into the game, the way he has been doing all season. He was made to work really hard by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dirk-Kuyt-c11348 and he did a decent job on him. He was instructed to make forward forays in the second half, which he looked
a lot more comfortable doing.
Seamus Coleman: 6.5
The Irishman ran on the right with his head down and although it looks unconventional, he has been pretty effective with that this season. It was a tight battle down that side against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Glen-Johnson-c15050 but he never really got past his man. Otherwise a hardworking
and tireless performance.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marouane-Fellaini-c24295: 7.5
Everton’s best player of the day, as he showed great touch, strength and vision throughout the 90 minutes. The Belgian shrugged off challenges from Spearing and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lucas-c22528 to keep the ball and spread the play brilliantly.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mikel-Arteta-c25715: 7.0
The Spaniard looked a much better player than he has been for most part of this season. He kept things simple and his distribution of the ball was neat and tidy. Didn’t really do anything fancy but put in a great shift for his manager, David Moyes.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Leon-Osman-c22041: 6.0
He was nowhere to be seen in the first 45 minutes and that was the case with most Everton players. However, he looked a different player in the second half. Provided the assist for Beckford’s goal.
Jermaine Beckford: 6.5
The boy who came with a big reputation will get his chance now that both Cahill and Yakubu are not at the club for some time. He took his chance well and scored a delightful goal. Even during the first half, the former Leeds United man worked his socks off
and contributed really well to the cause of the Toffees.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Victor-Anichebe-c36018: 6.0
He used his strength to hold the ball and did it reasonably well. He gave Everton a different dimension and his presence allowed Everton to hoof the ball up when under pressure. He was replaced nine minutes from time after he had contributed little in the
second period.
SUBSTITUTIONS
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/James-Vaughan-c17722: 5.5
He failed to make any notable impact as he was shrugged off time and again by Liverpool centre backs.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Diniyar-Bilyaletdinov-c11318: 6.0
The Russian was introduced late in the game and he added some spark to the tired Everton side. However, he failed to get his team all three points.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jack-Rodwell-c17462: 6.0
He came on for Leon Osman and made a decent contribution for the time he was on the pitch.
