Premier League Player Ratings: Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester City – Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham Hotspur played host to a rampant Manchester City at the White Hart Lane. The London based team were looking to try and get something out of the game, but considering the form that City were in, it was always going to be an uphill battle for Tottenham.
Following an emphatic performance, City cruised to a five goals to one win over their rivals.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brad-Friedel-c7953: The keeper made a few good saves early on, but just couldn’t do much to keep Dzeko’s four goals from finding the back of the net. Could have done a little better against Aguero’s effort, but once again failed to get his hand on the ball.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vedran-Corluka-c35947: Couldn’t really contain Nasri and Silva, as the two went on to run riot on the pitch. However, despite that fact he wasn’t all that bad.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Dawson-c25288: Didn’t get any support in the centre of the defence, but did his best to try and repel all the City attacks.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Younes-Kaboul-c37543: Was at fault for the opening two goals scored by City. Scored with a brilliant header, but failed to show any real motivation or determination during the course of the game.
Benoit Assou-Ekotto: The full back played a good game against City. However, he had an occasional lapse in his defending, which provided the visitors with far too much space and time on the ball.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Bale-c14422: Proved that he is easily the most overrated player in the world. Hasn’t scored since new years and doesn’t seem to be close to scoring any time soon. Made a few good crosses, but his teammates failed to capitalize on them.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luka-Modric-c22857: Was unusually poor during the game. It’s unclear if that is because he wants to move away, or if he has actually just become a half decent player.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Niko-Kranjcar-c27926: The midfielder was actually much better in the game than most excepted. His passing was good and his link up play was also half decent. He didn’t manage to hit his trade mark long range shorts, but seems to be making a name for himself in
the Tottenham squad.
Rafael Van Der Vaart: Was back to his outstanding self. Had a few good chances, but couldn’t really find the back of the net. Picked up an injury and is now rumoured to have a torn hamstring.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Peter-Crouch-c29741: The striker failed to win a number of aerial battles and seemed fairly useless for the most part. Seems to have forgotten how to head the ball as well.
