Premier League Predictions: Match Week 19 – Part 2
(Read the first part http://www.senore.com/Premier-League-Predictions-Match-Week-19-Part-1-a49650)
We have got four more games to predict in part 2 of this feature, including the revengeful encounter between Blackpool and Liverpool.
Blackpool v Liverpool
Blackpool stunned Liverpool when they visited Anfield. They not only got the win but the manner in which they humiliated the five time European champions, it is that which has left a real bad taste amongst Liverpool's faithful.
Liverpool will be buoyed by the return from injury of skipper, Steven Gerrard and stylish defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-Agger-c9884. Although, Gerrard is expected to start, Agger will more likely start the match on the bench.
Although, Liverpool have lost three successive away matches, we suspect that things might just work out for them this time around.
Blackpool know only one way to play, i.e. to attack. So, they will give Liverpool plenty of chances to score. However, they surely will fancy their chances against the slow, Kyrgiakos and clumsy, Skrtel.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steven-Gerrard-c34196 back in the fold, we will go with the Reds to come away with only their second away win.
Prediction: 1-2
Everton v Birmingham City
Everton were really worthy winners at Eastlands on Monday night. They played like a team and battled hard against a highly talented side. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tim-Cahill-c35085 was yet again on the score sheet and then turned provider for the second one.
Birmingham have been pretty ordinary of late with just 2 points from last three games. Their away form is worrying and although they defend well, they simply cannot score.
Everton will be without the suspended Anichebe, but Everton have loads of backups for this position. Luis Saha will be expected to start but against a robust Birmingham back four, Yakubu could be a real handful.
A win for Birmingham will take them level on points with Everton, but that scenario is not on the cards. However, that would not surprise anyone, after West Brom thrashed Everton 4-1 at Goodison earlier this season.
Everton will welcome back http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mikel-Arteta-c25715 and he could well prove to be the difference. Therefore, we will go for an Everton win.
Prediction: 2-0
Manchester United v Sunderland
It’s not usual to see Sunderland paying a visit to Old Trafford during mid season with only 7 points behind their opponents. However, this is exactly what the situation is and it says a lot about how well Steve Bruce has done this season with his team.
Sunderland have been on a really good run of late but form matters little when you are going to Manchester United. They will aim to play their natural football and hope to score and then sit back and defend.
Unfortunately for Sunderland, we have reached that point of the season when Manchester United really kick start their season. They have started playing their usual fluent football and it is highly unlikely that Sunderland will come away with anything from
this fixture.
Prediction: 3-1
Wolverhampton Wanderers v Wigan Athletic
This one is a relegation six pointer already. Both these teams along with West Ham are favourites to go down this season.
Wolves did brilliantly to beat Birmingham in their last game and with some of their injured players likely to be fit for this one, they stand a really good chance of taking all three points.
Wigan have been hit and miss this season as well with more misses than hits. That explains why they are 18th in the table. However, Wigan are not showing any signs of improving and if form is to go by, expect http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952 to take all three points.
Prediction: 2-1
To be continued in Part 3...
