Premier League Predictions: Match Week 19 – Part 3
(Read the second part http://www.senore.com/Premier-League-Predictions-Match-Week-19-Part-2-a49651)
As usual we talk about the big games in our part 3 of Premier League predictions. This match week is no different and this weekend’s big match sees Arsenal host the champions, Chelsea.
However, we start off with Alan Pardew's second game in charge and it really doesn’t get any easier for him, with Manchester City to visit after their success against Liverpool.
Newcastle United v Manchester City
Manchester City didn’t enjoy the best of nights against Everton on Monday. They didn’t play as a unit and defensively they were all over the place. They were lucky that Everton are not the best counter attacking team, otherwise it could have been more than
just two.
Balotelli’s remarks after he won the 'Golden Ball' have once again created headlines which are sure to annoy the manager, Roberto http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323. However, Newcastle away is a good opportunity for the Italian to silence his doubters and show his undoubted talent.
If he can take a leaf out of Tevez’s book of how to work for the team, he certainly can reach the heights he believes, he is destined to reach.
Meanwhile, Alan Pardew would like to build upon the impressive start he made against Liverpool. In Andy Carroll, he has arguably league’s hottest talent. I believe City will get more chances in this game as Newcastle do play attacking football and are not
the best defensive units out there.
This one promises to be an entertaining match, but we believe this will end up as an exciting draw.
Prediction: 2-2
Aston Villa v Tottenham Hotspur
This Tottenham team knows only one way to play and that is to attack the h**l out the opposition, and to be honest they do it pretty effectively. Influential attacker, Rafael Van der Vaart is expected to return to the starting line up and his presence will
give Spurs another dimension.
With http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Aaron-Lennon-c3062 all hitting top form, it will not be an easy ride for Aston Villa’s defence.
Gerrard Houllier knows a thing about how to stop top teams. His experience of similar matches during his time at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 will come in handy this weekend. Villa got a much needed win last weekend. They had lost their previous three and were under pressure
to get some points.
However, this game does not present them with a great opportunity to take all three points but Tottenham’s defence are bound to give you chances to score against them.
With http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ashley-Young-c6813 back in the fold, I expect Villa to hit Tottenham on the break and if they can contain Bale and Co, they can do exactly what Everton did to Manchester City last Monday.
We’ll gamble here and go for an Aston Villa win.
Prediction: 2-1
Arsenal v Chelsea
This one is a really tricky one to call. If Arsenal can overcome their mental block, then we fancy them to take all three points against the champions.
Chelsea have been in complete shambles of late and even the return of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Frank-Lampard-c14097 can’t suddenly change the form of his team mates.
It has been a long time since Arsenal beat http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380, which will give Arsenal a whole new look.
Chelsea, we know are capable of anything on their day and if they want anything from this game then it is imperative that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Didier-Drogba-c11044 is firing on all cylinders.
However, we doubt it will be the case this weekend as we can’t expect Frank Lampard to hit top form after bring out for so long.
This is the game Arsenal need to win, to send out a message to their doubter – Luis http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nani-c27299 – that they are much in this title race.
Prediction: 2-1
