Premier League Predictions: Match Week 20 – Part 3
All three of part 3 games are scheduled to be played on Wednesday. Liverpool will finally get a game while Chelsea would like to get a home win over Owen Coyle’s men.
We start our predictions in part 3 from DW stadium, where the visitors are the buoyant Gunners:
Wigan Athletic v Arsenal
Arsenal had to overcome their mental barrier to beat the champions last night and this win will put them in great stead for the rest of the season. The return of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380 and Cesc Fabregas could not have come at a better time.
Arsenal will be favourites to win this one but the way this season has panned out, one can never be sure. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marouane-Chamakh-c24294; both of whom were on the bench against Chelsea.
Wigan overcame their relegation rivals Wolves at the Molineux and a solid away performance would have given them loads of confidence. A morale boosting win was necessary, but no one would be pinning high hopes from this fixture.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/The-Strongest-c40725 at the back, Wigan will look to exploit those deficiencies and hit them at the break at every opportunity.
Meanwhile, Arsene Wenger will look to stay within touching distance of league leaders Manchester United. Any slip up at this stage would see the likes of Manchester City and even Tottenham close the gap.
Prediction: 1-3
Chelsea v Bolton Wanderers
Had Drogba scored from the penalty spot against Spurs, it would have given them much needed confidence boosting win. However, Chelsea are still looking for a run of wins and even though they were comprehensively beaten last night, they are showing signs
of getting things right.
The return of Frank Lampard will provide http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 with much craved for creativity in the midfield and it will take the pressure off the likes of Drogba, Anelka and Malouda.
The visitors to Stamford Bridge have been a breath of fresh air this season. Owen Coyle has changed the way Bolton play and when every team has been so inconsistent, Bolton have kept on carving out results.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Johan-Elmander-c18782 continues to show that he wasn’t a few games wonder as he scored the winner against West Brom on Sunday.
However, any Chelsea side will cause Bolton all sorts of problems. Bolton will have to be wary of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Frank-Lampard-c14097, who will be making those usual late runs in to the box.
It will be a tight one for sure but we believe Chelsea will finally get the win they have been looking for.
Prediction: 2-1
Liverpool v Wolverhampton Wanderers
Liverpool have registered a couple of 3-0 home wins and it wouldn’t surprise anyone one bit if they continue with that streak on Wednesday night. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-Agger-c9884 would have
surely lifted the mood amongst the players.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 always looks a lot more comfortable with Stevie behind him and his record at Anfield is simply stunning. So, expect him to be on the score sheet and if Roy Hodgson does not come up with any negative tactics, this could well be an easy outing
for Liverpool players.
Wolves must be wondering how on earth they play so well against big oppositions and pick up a point but when there are three on offer, they take none.
It will be some achievement if they were to take all three points but it will be nice to see if Mick McCarthy’s men take the game to Liverpool and we know what can happen if that is done. Blackpool have set the example for everyone to follow.
However, we feel it is unlikely that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952 will go down that route.
Prediction: 3-0
