Premier League Predictions: Match Week 21 – Part 1
We have had an amazing 2010 in terms of football and hope to see more of the beautiful game starting from the very first day of year.
It is match week 21 and there are plenty of matches to excite you. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809’s game against Bolton could decide Roy Hodgson’s fate and it would be interesting to see how Newcastle United perform without star striker Andy Carroll.
Blackpool will be looking to register an amazing sixth away win while Manchester United would like to follow their footsteps who have only won once on the road.
We start with the first Premier League of the year at the Hawthorns.
West Brom v Manchester United
West Brom had a poor end to 2010 with three back-to-back defeats. They are looking to turn a corner here and the last thing you want in a situation like this, is a match against an in-form Manchester United.
West Brom have started to leak silly goals at the back and although their strength lies in going forwards, they have looked a bit rusty in their attacks as well.
Manchester United starts the New Year at the top of the tree and have played lesser games then all of their rivals. The team is starting to play as a unit and although Luis http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nani-c27299 is set to miss out once again, the likes of Berbatov and Anderson will be expected
to continue their rich vein of form.
United have drawn 7 of their 8 away matches and had it not been for their sensational home record, they could have found themselves a lot lower in the table.
One the basis of form this should be an easy ride for Manchester United, who are expected to register only their second away win of the season.
Prediction: 0-2
Liverpool v Bolton Wanderers
Where do you start with Liverpool? Their fans have been calling for the head of their clueless manager, Roy Hodgson, and some are even willing to face defeat if that means the departure of the former Fulham man.
It will be interesting to see what sort of a reception Hodgson gets from the Anfield crowd but Roy has no option but to have a real go at this one. Bolton are the form team and were a touch unlucky in their loss at Stamford Bridge.
If Hodgson plays the right personnel at the right positions and goes out all guns blazing, he will have a fair chance of winning this one. His negative approach has failed miserably to yield any positive results anyway.
Bolton might just think that Liverpool are there for the taking and it could possibly work out in the favour of the home team.
Predictions: 2-1
Sunderland v Blackburn
Both teams have picked up 7 points from their last 6 matches and although Blackburn finally got back to winning ways in midweek, Sunderland need to turn a corner.
The Black Cats had a poor Christmas as they suffered two back-to-back defeats. However, Sunderland created enough chances against Blackpool to win convincingly and that will encourage Steve Bruce to have a similar go at Blackburn.
Steve Kean got his first win as a manager with their impressive win over West Brom. They desperately needed that going into the New Year. Blackburn fans are still not satisfied with the departure of Sam Allardyce and the appointment of Kean has hardly filled
anyone with excitement.
Sunderland will start this one as favourites but it remains to be seen how Blackburn react after getting their first win under new manager.
A home win should be the most likely outcome.
Prediction: 2-1
