Fulham have not registered a single win in their last six outings and are sliding perilously closer to the drop zone. The fact that they have only won two games this season is becoming a cause of concern for their fans, and the club management is getting
more and more agitated with the ways of their manager Mark Hughes. The pressure will be all on Hughes when his side takes on Sunderland this weekend in a clash that is a must win for both sides. Sunderland are currently placed in the top seven, and have rekindled
their hopes of a European place with a recent good run of form. Another win tonight will surely help them in their cause, but Fulham cannot afford one more defeat and that is why the game at Craven Cottage will be a feisty encounter.
Stoke city’s home, Britannia Stadium has been a fortress for the Potters this season and only Tottenham and Manchester United have left the Britannia with all three points. This weekend Blackpool will face a Stoke side that is high on confidence, and is
looking to build upon their recent good run of form in the league. Stoke City is unbeaten in their last five games. The added incentive for Blackpool from this game is the fact that they will leapfrog Stoke City in the league standings if they win tonight,
and Tony Pulis’s side will surely do everything in their powers to stop that from happening.
Three more Premier League games will be played on Sunday starting with Bolton playing against Sam Allardyce’s Blackburn Rovers. Owen Coyle’s Bolton are currently in the top six of the Premier League and another win on Sunday will surely keep them there for
another week. Johan Elmander has been in inspirational form for the trotters this season, and has led the attack with masterful ease along with Kevin Davies. Bolton has only lost one game at home this season and they will be looking to build on this record.
Rovers on the other hand do not boast a very good away record in the league this season, and having not won a single game on the road this season they will be looking to improve that record.
Another important clash at the weekend will be played between Wolves and Birmingham at the Molineux. Wolves have lost 10 of their last 13 games and are currently lying in the bottom three of the league. With Christmas fast approaching they will be looking
to climb off the danger zone, as it seldom is the case that a team in the bottom three at Christmas survives in the league and a game against Birmingham is their best opportunity to get the momentum going.
The clash of the day on Sunday will be played at the White Hart Lane when Spurs welcome Chelsea for the London Derby. This is a game that Chelsea lost last season, and they haven’t been able to get a win in their last six games. Carlo Ancelotti’s men will
be looking to bounce back from their recent disappointments with a win against their City rivals. If Chelsea wins this match, they will reclaim the top spot in the league, as both Arsenal and Manchester United are not playing until their game on Monday evening.
Monday night football this weekend will feature the top of the table clash between Arsenal and Manchester United at the theatre of Dreams, and after having beaten the Gunners five games in a row Manchester United will be confident of going top of the table.
United will be welcoming back Rio Ferdinad and Paul Scholes, who have been declared fit for this clash while Arsenal are set to be without their inspirational captain Cesc Fabregas for the clash.
