Premier League Preview: Everton vs Wigan Athletic
Everton are looking to prepare themselves for the visit of Wigan. With Wigan having performed far better than what was expected of them this season and Everton having done the opposite, the match is not going to be as easy as it was assumed to be before
the start of the season.
Everton are going to be playing this game without their star play maker, Mikel Arteta. The Spaniard is still set to complete his three match ban, that he picked up against the Latics. Louis Saha is also said to be a major doubt for the game, as the striker
picked up a knock in the team's last outing against Chelsea. This means that David Moyes will be turning to either Yakubu or the highly impressive Jermaine Beckford, to lead the line from the front on the night.
For Wigan, their star striker Hugo Rodallega has finally made a return to the squad, after having sat out his respective three match ban. However his partner up front, Franco di Santo is set to be out of action for nearly three months, thanks to an ankle
problem that he developed of late. Gary Calswell, the team's captain, is set to return to the side, but it is highly unlikely that he will be risked in the game against Everton.
According to most experts, the game is set to be a cracker as both the teams will be looking to pick up the three points. Everton are going to need the likes of Pienaar and Baines to step up their game in the absence of Arteta, if they stand any chance to
secure all three points. On the other hand if Wigan can successfully help Rodallega get to the ball more often, then they stand a good chance to picking up the unlikely win as well.
