Premier League Preview: Tottenham Hotspur vs. Manchester City- 1st half 0-0 (Part 1)
As expected, 14th of August 2010, proved to be a big day, where one of the greatest seasons of entertainment started once again and what an encounter it was to begin with.
Anxiously anticipating views from all around the world eagerly anticipated for this moment, since the league finished last season and the first half of the game didn’t disappoint them.
The first few minutes of the game were a bit slow and lacked in action but the energy in the field was racing upwards exponentially and Gareth Bale was the man that initiated the hype for Tottenham.
Not only did his free kick from the out skirt of the penalty area hit the box but he was amazing at taking the free kicks and his dribbling was impeccable. He made brilliant assists for the team but they were extremely unfortunate on netting them.
Aaron Lennon was the other man from White Hart Lane that produced wave after wave of attacks for the Whites from the right flank, though he was often denied the glory of scoring. His brilliant performance kept on going till the mid of the half but then it deteriorated some what.
There were big expectations from Tottenham Hotspurs and they indeed delivered them and showed what they were capable of this season. They should have been at least two goals up by now but the Manchester City’s goal keeper, Joe Hart proved to be a brick in front of the goal posts and blocked all efforts.
After that came the turn of the Manchester City’s Argentinean striker Carlos Tevez and in a span of moments, he made two attempts at scoring. However, he was unsuccessful at both of them as the ball went far away from the goal posts.
The highest paid player of English Premier League, Yaya tore, acquired from the Spanish club that won the Spanish League (La Liga), Barcelona was the man that had created a lot of hype in the match but in it he was no where to be seen.
He seemed more like a magician who had some how managed to hide himself in the middle of an open field.
In the first of the half, he was rarely seen but he suddenly came alive with a powerful strike at attempting a goal but even after that, his performance wasn’t of much good to the team.
He was supposed to play in the mid field along with Spanish star David Silva but he was rather all over the place.
You could see him defending on the far of flanks to the wings and the edges of the goal. He was pretty much all over the place. This happened to be his attempt of playing total football, well the opinion for that would be he failed at it miserably.
