Premier League: Review of News - Manchester City, Manchester United, Newcastle United and Sunderland

Manchester City:
Roberto Mancini’s summer signing, Mario Balotelli will miss the next crucial fixture against Manchester United as he was shown red card in his last match. Mario was shown a straight red for his rigorous tackle on WBA’s defender. The Citizens are now pledging
an appeal against the three-match ban but accept the red card - he had already been booked - meaning he will miss the chance of facing Manchester United.
The FA said in a statement, "The FA can confirm that Manchester City FC have submitted a claim that, following the dismissal of Mario Balotelli for violent conduct, the standard punishment of an automatic three match ban is clearly excessive. The claim will
be heard by an independent regulatory commission."
Manchester United:
Manchester United’s legendary manager, Sir Alex Ferguson claims that their city rivals will keep on splashing money until they win anything but he admitted that Manchester City is genuine Barclays Premier League title contender this season. The 18 time Premier
League champion, Manchester United is currently the only side which is unbeaten both in Premier League and in UEFA Champions League.
Manchester United is on second spot in the table just two points behind the league leaders Chelsea. Ferguson said that the fact that both clubs are now challenging for the title will add extra spice to the contest. Ferguson stated, "It does put an edge on
[the game]. I don't believe there's any question about that. We know the kind of money they're spending - they've bought another five or six players in the summer and they'll keep doing that until they win something."
He added, "You know that's going to be the way it is and you have to deal with it as it comes along. They're up there [challenging for the title], and you can't wait until tomorrow when there's something there today. I'm sure they're thinking that way themselves."
Newcastle United:
Striker Andy Carroll believes that there is more to come from him this season. The striker grabbed headlines on Sunday as he earned Newcastle a surprise 1-0 win at Arsenal. Andy said, "It was a great ball from Joey (Barton) and I just got on the end of it.
It means a lot to me. I've got the players around me to put crosses in and give me the service that I need, so I think if it keeps continuing like that there's loads more goals for me there this season."
Sunderland:
Steve Bruce says that defender Marcos Angeleri still has a future at the club despite his difficult start. The 27-year-old right back made the switch to the Stadium of Light for £1.5m during the summer but has yet to make an appearance for the Black Cats.
Angeleri has been struggling with injury and reports have suggested that he could make a Wear side exit sooner rather than later. However, Bruce believes that the Argentina international will begin to flourish once he regains full fitness and settles in England.
"He had a serious knee injury which he was just getting over as we signed him last year. He then rocked his knee a bit against Benfica in pre-season, which didn't help," he said. "He's probably only just starting now. It would be very premature to write
him off. South American players need time to settle in, as I have always said. Look at Maynor Figueroa at Wigan. I signed him and he didn't play for a year. It is so different for South Americans when they come here. They understand that as well, I think Marcos
does. Of course he's disappointed. He'd like to play, like they all do, but there's been no need to rush and change anything up. Look at someone like Phil Bardsley. He has reacted well to his signing and we've offered him a contract this week."
