Premier League Round Up: Arsenal and Aston Villa - 26 January 2011
Arsenal
Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has confirmed that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Carlos-Vela-c8558 would be loaned out by the end of the current week. The Mexican winger has not been given much of first team opportunities this season and the manager wants him to get
more first team experience. There are many clubs in Europe interested in snapping up the 21-year-old forward, but Wenger is inclined towards sending him to Bolton Wanderers.
Wenger confirmed that Vela wanted to spend some time in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011, but it would be better for him to gain experience in England in order to get accustomed to the style of play.
"There's nothing done at the moment, no. But that could be sorted out Wednesday or Thursday. Personally I wish (he would go to a Premier League club) because he's a great player and it will be easier for me to follow his progress
but he is attracted by Spanish football because it is his home language. But hopefully we can find a good solution for him in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749," stated the Arsenal boss.
It has been four years since Arsenal played in a Cup final at the Wembley Stadium. The side managed an impressive 3-0 win over Championship side Ipswich Town on 25 January in the Carling Cup semifinal, winning the match 3-1 on
aggregate. The crowd were singing “Que Sara Sara!, we’re going to Wembley” towards the final minutes of the match and the entire fan base feels that a trophy would be finally arriving for the first time in nearly five years.
Aston Villa
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jonathan-Hogg-c19027 has joined Portsmouth on a six-month loan deal, as confirmed by the Aston Villa management. Hogg has been extremely impactful this season and the manager was delighted to send him off for more first team appearances.
Hogg’s hopes of making more first team appearances were battered when he suffered from two back-to-back cruciate ligament concerns and he now needs to toughen himself up before returning to the Premier League.
The manager stated that Jonathan has been extremely competitive in every match he has played and his loan move would be hugely beneficial for the player’s overall development. The player, however, remains a huge part of Villa’s
future as he has signed a new contract, which will keep him at Villa until 2014.
