Premier League Round Up: Birmingham City and Blackburn Rovers – 24 January 2011
Birmingham City
Birmingham City manager Alex McLeish is not willing to off load http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cameron-Jerome-c8284, especially when the side has not brought in any reinforcements in the current transfer window. Birmingham were whipped on the weekend when Manchester
United ran riot with a 5-0 win over them. The loss has put the side into a challenging relegation battle. Moreover, with such results, it is highly unlikely that McLeish would get any financial backing from the board.
Therefore, the manager wants to keep Jerome at the club.
"How can we let someone go when we have not even brought anyone in. It would be madness. Jerome has these positives. He is quick and strong. We could do with getting someone else in who can compete for a place in the side alongside
him as well as the other strikers. We have created chances this season but we have not been prolific in terms of finishing them off," claimed an infuriated Alex McLeish.

Blackburn Rovers midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Morten-Gamst-Pedersen-c26824 was delighted by his team’s performance against West Bromwich Albion. Pedersen believes that the stability has finally been restored at the club, which was disturbed owing to the
sacking of manager Sam Allardyce. Gamst has played for Blackburn under four different managers, which include the likes of Graeme Souness, Mark Hughes, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paul-c29347 Ince and Sam Allardyce, but believed that the side has a bright future following the signing of a long-term
deal for Steve Kean.
The win against West Bromwich took the side into the seventh spot and the manager was handed a contract that will keep him at Ewood Park until 2013. The player claimed that the deal was bound to bring in stability as it has been
confirmed that he would stay here for long. With that being settled, the entire club can now work together to help the manager’s cause and finish better than they have in recent years. A few signings would be the perfect way to bolster the team’s chances in
the Premier League.
Gamst also praised the manager’s impact at the club and believed that Kean would give his all for the prosperity of the club. Kean has the experience of managing various clubs around Europe and Gamst believes that he could be very
handy for the overall direction of Blackburn Rovers.
