Premier League Round Up: Blackburn Rovers - 11 January 2011
Right back Michel Salgado believes that deals with superstars http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385.
Since the Indian Giants Venky’s took over, the club has made transfer offers for some of the top players in the World. This includes the likes of Ronaldinho and David Beckham; however, both players were not interested in coming
to the club.
Salgado claimed that bringing high profile players does not necessarily mean they would have a positive impact on the club; instead, it may also back fire.
"I don't think someone like Beckham coming here for three months is the best thing for him or Blackburn. He's my friend and if he came here it would be great for us. But to be honest, for the future of Blackburn it's better to
sign a player for three years. It's the same with Ronaldinho. We'd prefer three or four club players with good experience, maybe not top class but ones who would be really good for this club in the future," stated the 35-year-old right back.
Salgado also believes he has just one more year left in his body and is ready to for a contract extension. The former Real Madrid player joined Blackburn in 2009 and brings a lot of experience and technical ability to the team.
Salgado thanked former Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce for bringing him to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 in the first place and said that he is having the time of his life at Blackburn. The defender added that he feels fit inside and wanted to help Blackburn achieve a minimum mid-table
finish this season.
Salgado has won 2 UEFA Champions League titles along with 7 La Liga titles in his 10 years at his former club. Moreover, Salgado was part of Real Madrid’s Galacticos era and had the honour of playing along the likes Zinedine Zidane,
Ronaldo, David Beckham, Luis Figo, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-Carlos-c31317.
