Premier League Round Up: Bolton Wanderers – 11 January 2011
Bolton Wanderers defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zat-Knight-c37825 has expressed his delight to wear the captain’s armband. Knight was captain of the Wanderers side that managed a win over York City, on Saturday, to proceed into the fourth round of the FA Cup.
He was given the responsibility owing to Kevin Davies being benched.
Furthermore, Knight performed extremely well during the entire 90 minutes of the match, where his efforts led to ‘The Trotters’ managing a rare clean sheet.
"It was a cup final for York - it was all or nothing for them. It was tough in the first-half but after the break we made one or two changes, stepped it up a bit and the boys who came on managed to score a couple of goals. I really
enjoyed skippering the side and it was nice to take over from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kevin-Davies-c20716 for the day,” stated the centre back.
The player added that he had been the captain for Fulham and knew what it takes to wear the armband. Knight was of the opinion that a perfect captain needs to take the team together and play exceptionally well in order to set an
example for everyone. The former Fulham man joined Bolton Wanderers in 2009 and has since made 61 appearances, scoring twice.
The 30-year-old has made 296 appearances in the Premier League and is well aware how things proceed in the toughest league on the planet. Knight did not let much pass his area and was rightly awarded the Man of the match for his
brilliant performance against York. Bolton now face Championship side Doncaster http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 in the fourth round of the FA Cup and would want to see themselves as quarterfinalists.
