Premier League Round Up: Bolton Wanderers and Chelsea – 1 February 2011
Bolton Wanderers
Bolton Wanderers manager, Owen Coyle has blamed Carlos Vela’s transfer agent as the major reason behind the player not joining the club on loan from Arsenal.
Arsene Wenger was willing to loan out Vela to any Premier League club for the second half of the current season, with Bolton being the forerunners. The reason was Jack Wilshere’s improvement in game following his loan spell at
Bolton in the last season, as the young English International has become a first team player for Arsenal.
However, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Carlos-Vela-c8558 chose to snub the Bolton deal for newly promoted West Bromwich Albion and Coyle was thoroughly disappointed, having not been able to sign the Mexican forward.
"The player's representative sent me a list of figures he wanted added on to what was agreed. What it would have cost would have been like the salary of a top, top Premier League player. He's very good but he's not at that level,”
stated the Bolton Boss.
The manager stated that things were very different with Wilshere’s loan term, as the wages were pre-decided and the dealing with the agents was just over first team opportunities.
Chelsea
Chelsea’s young left-back, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Patrick-van-Aanholt-c29315 has been signed on loan by Championship side Leicester City for the remainder of the season. However, the loan term is yet to be approved by the Football League. The youngster, who
has played for Netherland’s U-21 side, joined Chelsea from Dutch club http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281 Eindhoven in 2007. The 20-year-old sensation is expected to start in today’s fixture against Sheffield United and he was delighted to become a part of the side.
Chelsea manager, Carlo Ancelotti has labelled the youngster as a rising star and has played him eight times in the first team. These include four appearances in the UEFA Champions League in this season.
The Dutch player also spent loan terms with Coventry and Newcastle United during the last season and would further blossom under the guidance of former English boss, Sven Gorran-Ericksson, who is the current manager of Leicester
City. Chelsea just broke the British transfer record when they signed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786’s otherwise injury-prone squad.
