Premier League Round Up: Everton – 4th January 2011
Everton manager David Moyes looks to bolster his squad in the transfer window by adding some loan players, if not some permanent transfers. The side currently lacks effective attacking players, especially a striker and Manchester
United youngster http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Federico-Macheda-c13475 has been linked with a move to Goodison Park. However, with Macheda confirming a move to Italian side Sampdoria, Everton now look elsewhere to snap up a quality striker.
"You could ask me about lots of people and I would say 'well maybe'. But in truth I don't know at the moment. We will try and look around and see what we can get. We've got to look to see who's available on loan. There might be
a lot of deals done, but they might not be done in the first week of January," claimed David Moyes.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tim-Cahill-c35085. Cahill has stepped up to become a supporting striker this
season, despite being an attacking midfielder. In his 19 league appearances, Cahill has scored nine times as opposed to Saha’s one in 7 appearances this season. On the other hand, Yakubu has managed just one goal in 13 appearances this season, which just shows
the attacking quality of Everton. That is one of the major reasons behind Moyes’s failure to do much this season and now, he has had enough of the non-firing strikers.
The likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Emmanuel-Adebayor-c12526 have also been linked to a move to Goodison Park, but the transfer fee of both the Manchester City players is just too much to afford for Moyes. The side may well loose the services
of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steven-Pienaar-c34208 this winter as well, creating more problems for the Merseyside club. Whatever may be the case, Moyes needs to act quickly this season or risk the chance to fall even low in the Premier League. The side is currently 13th in the
league, but are just 2 points above relegation threatened Fulham.
