Premier League Round Up: Fulham and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 -13 Jan 2011
Fulham
Fulham midfielder Aaron Hughes has full faith in his team to keep achieving favourable results after their recent top form in the league. Fulham head into an important relegation battle when they face Wigan Athletic on Saturday and Hughes has urged his side to give it their all.
"Over the past three or four weeks we've put in some really good performances," Hughes said. "We've had good performances already this season but didn't get what we deserved from them. I know we can't say that for every game but there were a few games where we did really well and should have got more,” stated the player.
Hughes added that Fulham need to kill off other teams, as they have turned wins into draws and draws into losses this season.
Liverpool
Liverpool reserve team manager John McMahon has showered praise on youngster http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-Pacheco-c10045 for his outstanding performance in the reserves’ recent win over Sunderland. Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish was present during the match, where Pacheco managed a brilliant finish in the 2-1 win. That was not all, as the Spaniard then set up Nikola Saric for the winning goal and was awarded the man of the match award for his impressive performances. McMahon hailed the goal scorers, claiming that both of them were nearly unstoppable finishes. The manager added that he has always emphasized that finishing is the most important thing for a striker, and that is exactly what was exhibited in the reserves match.
McMahon then added that Pacheco is a player, who accepts criticism positively. The manager added that Pacheco has a desire to work hard and achieve something with the club as he brings in a lot of energy and sincerity in his game.
Now, it will be up to Dalglish to test the player in the first team. Liverpool are in a dire need of bringing flair to the side, as the current players lack confidence and the will to win. With that, Pacheco may well be what the side needs to turn around the season for the Reds.
