United shirt, pointing towards Webb’s controversial decision in the FA Cup fixture at Old Trafford. Despite the Liverpool man apologising for his act, FA was still not convinced.
Manchester United

would be available for the FA Cup match against Liverpool, but decided not to risk the 24-year-old owing to his ankle concerns.
"I could have put him on the bench but there was no point. He just felt it again on Friday and when he came in on Saturday morning you could see there was a reaction. At that point, we said no," stated the Manchester United boss.

The appeal against a three-match ban on Cheik Tiote has been denied by the FA and the player will now sit out the coming three fixtures. Tiote’s late challenge on Jon Ashton in the FA Cup third round tie between Newcastle United
and Stevenage resulted in a straight red for the 24-year-old Ivorian.
A statement from FA read:
"At a regulatory commission hearing, a claim for wrongful dismissal from Newcastle United midfielder Cheik Tiote was rejected. As a result, Tiote's three-match suspension will remain in place."
