Premier League Round Up: Manchester City - 13 Jan 2011
Manchester City midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Johnson-c25313 has confessed that he may have to move from his current club this season, on loan, to get first team experience. The 22-year-old made a successful comeback from his cruciate ligament concern
and played the first half of the reserves victory over Rochdale in the EDS Cup. Johnson’s last first team appearance for City came in the side’s 5-1 thrashing of Scunthorpe United in the Carling Cup. Johnson then got injured and City has since changed the
entire outlook of the starting XI. With players like David Silva, Yaya Toure, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/James-Milner-c17706 and Nigel Di Jong coming in the side, Johnson faces tough competition to get first team football and has therefore opted for a 6-month loan move to any club which promises
him regular playing time.
"We have a lot of world class players. That is why we are second in the league. It is better for me to go and get games now. Ideally maybe going out somewhere for the rest of the season and getting match fit might be a better option
(than staying)," stated the 22-year-old.
Meanwhile, Manchester City have become a big threat in European football, following the signing of top players. With Bosnian goal-firing machine Edin Dzeko, the new signing at the club, City would once again threaten some of the
top clubs once they enter the Champions league next season. The side is currently just 2 points behind leaders Manchester United, but have played two fixtures more than their arch-rivals. City now host Wolverhampton Wanderers in the league next, who are coming
off a shock 1-0 win over leaders http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786. City would want to keep gaining all three points from lesser oppositions in order to cement their spot into the Top 4 and reach the group stages of the Champions League.
However, Dzeko may be favoured to play alongside club http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Captain-c8314 Carlos Tevez to really give oppositions a run for their money. Dzeko managed to score 85 times in his 138 appearances for Wolfsburg before joining Manchester City and
has all the making to be the next big centre forward in Europe.
