Premier League Round Up - Part 1
Heres a quick look at whats going on with the premier league clubs:
Arsenal: Arsenal midfielder Theo Walcott has claimed that extra time on the training pitch and the gym have been the two major reason behind his impressive form this season. The player claimed that he has been going really strong for both his club and country.
Walcott added that he had an injury free pre-season, in which he performed at the highest level. The speedster stated that perhaps not going to the World Cup was a blessing in disguise and everything had been going pretty well. Walcott believed that his staying back to go the extra mile improved his game overall.
I stay behind to improve on things like the final ball, the end product, stuff like” claimed the England International. Theo added that this season he’s been going to the gym even more and just wants to keep on improving. Walcott aimed to keep on going, stating that when he was younger, he would’ve stayed down from a tackle, but now he gets up and keep on running, creating a lot of problems from the defenders.
Aston Villa: Caretaker manager Kevin MacDonald has been openly backed by former manager Graham Taylor to take over the managerial post permanently. The former manager claimed that the player should be out on the training pitch, taking care of selection. Taylor added that MacDonald is well respected around the club and possesses a strong character. Graham Taylor notified that the care taker manager just needs a little time and it would have been wrong to judge him on the 3-0 win over West Ham as well as the 6-0 loss to Newcastle.
Aston Villa now travels to face Stoke City away. Aston Villa is currently on the number 4th spot and would be hoping to stay that way. The team bounced back stronger when they defeated Everton last week, which was a huge win for Kevin MacDonald. Following Martin O’Neill’s departure, Kevin MacDonald’s emergence has perhaps Villa into a new era. The club may well decide to install him as a full time coach as he has proven himself worthy for that spot.
Birmingham City: Acting Chairman of the club, Peter Pannu, has recently dismissed claims regarding a rift with manager Alex McLeish’s contract negotiations with the club. Reports suggest that Peter claimed that the manager was asking for a lot of money which the club was not prepared to give and that he was “no Jose Mourinho”. But the Chairman has voiced his opinion regarding the matter, claiming it to be nonsense. “Our relationship is phenomenal, we are very strong and close, and I want to dispel this notion that there is anything wrong. In fact, I spoke to Alex about the Mourinho reference and we laughed about it”, claimed the care taker chief.
Blackburn Rovers: Former Manchester City striker Benjani is now looking to get his form back following his one year contract with Blackburn Rovers. The forward has signed a one year deal and claimed that he didn’t have any issues regarding his form and fitness, and is really happy with his new club. The striker praised the Premier league, claiming it to be the best league on the planet and therefore wants to prolong his stay here. Benjani stated that Rovers are a great team and he would now be playing to gain his full fitness. For that, the player would need to play some friendly matches and hopes to gain match fitness by next month. The player claimed the process would require a lot of hard work since sometimes it happens that a player return from one injury to pick up another one. Benjani thus hoped nothing of the sort won’t happens to him.
