Premier League Round Up - Part 5
Heres a quick look at whats going on with the premier league clubs:
West Bromwich Albion: Newly promoted side West Bromwich Albion have left out Luke Moore and Luke Daniels from their 25 man squad for the 1st half of the premier league. The manager has included 11 home grown players in the list, which is three more than the requirement. New signings Pablo Ibanez, Gabriel Tamas, Steven Reid, Peter Odemwingie, Somen Tchoyi, Marc-Antoine Fortune, Boaz Myhill, Nicky Shorey and Paul Scharner are all included while promising youngsters such as Chris Wood, Joe Mattock, Sam Mantom and George Thomas remain eligible for first-team duty.
West Ham United: Kieron Dyer claimed that West Ham United has the ability and depth to overcome the odds and pull a major upset and defeat Chelsea in the next fixture. Chelsea are on a roll in the new season, maintaining a hundred percent win record so far.
The official claimed that it’s a completely different game as it’s a derby. The form thus doesn’t matter and West Ham would be enjoying the energy of the home crowd. Dyer added that the crowd would sheer even a single tackle from Scott Parker and would thus play an important role. The winger claimed that it would be a different fixture than that at Old Trafford.
Former Chelsea manager Avram Grant is now the boss at West Ham and it is believed that the manager is trying to change the overall mentality of the team. Dyer claimed that it was important since they have to start winning games and catch up to the league. West Ham United has not won a single game in the new season and have lost each game with a three goal margin.
Wigan Athletic: Wigan Chairman David Whelan has expressed his support for manager Roberto Martinez after the club managed to make a comeback from two successive defeats. The team managed to defeat Champions league side Tottenham Hotspurs at White Hart Lane. The chief stated that he rates Roberto Martinez on the highest level. “if you want his head, you'll get mine as well. Had they insisted, and even if we would have lost at Tottenham and they start crying for his head and had he asked to go, I would definitely have resigned with him.", claimed Wigan Athletic chairman David Whelan.
Wolverhampton Wanderers: Wolves winger Stephan Hunt has resumed light training after a foot injury. The player now hopes to make his debut for the club next month. Wolves signed the player from relegated Hull City back in June, knowingly that Hunt won’t be available for the club for atleast a couple of month. The winger has not played a single match since February owing to the injury which later required surgery. However the player has reportedly starting running again and is aiming to return to the team after the International break in October.
The winger claimed that he’s been on the pitch jogging for the first time since he joined the Wolves. The 29 year old claimed that it was the first time that he starting pacing on grass but it still helps. The player added that the next step for him would be to get some pre-season matches under his belt. The winger then hoped that the International break October would give him the perfect time to recover and would want to play sometime around then.
