Manchester City
Italian side Lazio’s President, Claudio Lotito has claimed that their inability to sign Roque Santa Cruz from Manchester City is not a failure. The Paraguayan striker came very close to signing with the Serie A side but the deal couldn’t solidify in time with the deadline this Tuesday. The President claimed that it’s not a disappointment, insisting that they would have to wait sometime for the winter transfer window to make that transfer. The President stated that they already have the likes of Mauro Zarate, Sergio Floccari, Tommaso Rocchi and Pasquale Foggia and would have to assess Santa Cruz’s situation.
Manchester United
FIFA’s experts have labelled Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney to be one of England’s top players in the 2010 World Cup. The news comes as a shock to everyone as the 34 goal scoring man failed to fire in the World Cup and was greatly affected by the injury he picked up towards the end of the season. FIFA experts however labelled the player to be a “hard-working, energetic” striker who worked hard for the team and has a very good technique. This report was gathered by a 16 man FIFA team, which included former Liverpool FC manager Gerard Houllier as well the former Scotland manager Andy Roxburgh.
