Premier League - Season Second Half: Players To Watch Out For

This season has been a strange one for many reasons. Some strange results and a congested looking table shows that most teams have failed to hit top form. However, most of the top teams have also either missed some of their top players or some have looked
out of touch.
New Year brings new hopes for all teams. Teams like Liverpool and Manchester City will be in the market for new faces and it could well take their season in the right direction.
Bettor.com looks at some of the players that we believe can have a big say on how the table looks like, come the end of May. Here is our list of four players who we expect to make a notable impact in the second half of the season:
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380 (Arsenal)
The Dutchman seems to spend more time on the treatment table than http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Beckham-c10432 does in the spot light. He has made a total of 28 appearances, in all competitions, during the last one and a half seasons, and many of them have been from the bench.
The highly talented forward is now back once again and will be hoping to make a significant contribution in 2011. Arsenal have so far coped well without their star man, as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Samir-Nasri-c32360 have managed to share the goal scoring burden.
However, Chamakh’s arrival could result in Persie playing in his favoured ‘second striker’ role, which he did when Adebayor was at the club. That was when he showed his best form.
If he can stay fit for the next 5-6 months, Arsenal will stand a really good chance of ending the trophy drought.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Frank-Lampard-c14097 (Chelsea)
How much have http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 missed him? Well, you only need to look at the results of the games he has not played. The fat frank, quite frankly, is the most influential player at Stamford Bridge.
He made his come back from injury in the game against Tottenham, and will be expected to start in their next game, away at Arsenal.
Lampard, who is usually a fit player, can have a massive say in the title race. He has been one of the top goal scoring midfielders in the Premier League for over six seasons now and if he can reach top form and make similar contributions till the end of
the season; Chelsea will bring the title back home.

The usually crocked Fernando Torres has played regularly this season but he has been wrapped up in cotton wool by Liverpool manager, Roy Hodgson.
His dismal form, at the start of the season was attributed to him not being 100%. However, now that he is fully fit, the Spaniard is still not firing on all cylinders.
Everyone has had their input as to why Torres doesn’t look like the Torres of 2008/09 season. However, with Liverpool expected to bring in some new faces and the return from injury, of his partner in crime, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steven-Gerrard-c34196; Fernando Torres is the man to fire
Liverpool back into top four.
He guarantees you goals and it’s only a matter of time that he reaches top form and fitness and scoring goals for fun.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Rooney-c36736 (Manchester United)
He has been in the news for all the wrong reasons since England’s abysmal World Cup campaign. Since then he has been injured, threatened to leave Old Trafford, had a scandal and has played some shocking football.
Rooney is now finally back doing what he does best, playing football. He had a stellar last season and was virtually unstoppable. However, this season he has failed to match his performances of last season.
His team is unbeaten in the league and are at the top of the table. All that Manchester United need now is a Wayne Rooney, who is raring to go.
He is more than capable of making an impact next year and has already said that he wants to forget what happened in 2010. If he can reach top form, then it could well be difficult for the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City to catch Manchester
United in the race for Premier League crown.
