Premier League: Stoke City v Manchester United half time report
Stoke 0 Man Utd 1
A clever header from Javier Hernandez separates Stoke and Manchester United at the break at the Britannia Stadium.
United’s Mexican forward flicked Nemanja Vidic’s header into the net with his back to goal, giving the visitors the edge in what has been a tight contest.
Hernandez almost added a second when Thomas Sørensen’s attempted clearance struck him before sailing over the crossbar, while Patrice Evra headed a corner wide.
Stoke have had their moments too, and after Rory Delap drove wide from distance with Edwin van der Sar out of his goal, the Irish international’s frequent long throws have been causing the United defence problems, and you get the feeling that there are more goals in this one.
