Stoke City v West Ham half time report
Stoke 0 West Ham 1
A close range goal from Scott Parker has given West Ham real hope of earning their first points of the season at the Britannia Stadium.
Midfielder Parker was on hand to profit from poor Stoke defending from a free kick on the half hour mark, and hooked his side ahead from just two yards out.
Earlier, goalkeeper Robert Green’s error resulted in Stoke defender Robert Huth hitting the post, before Kenwyne Jones fired a chance wildly wide.
Despite that, the Hammers have been marginally the better side, and came close to extending their lead when Frederic Piquionne’s terrific long range effort bounced back off the crossbar.
