Premier League Update: http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson named manager of the year after winning league with Manchester United
After helping Manchester United win a record breaking, 19th league title, Alex Ferguson has been named the League Managers Association’s manager of the year - which saw the leagues managers vote for Ferguson, being the best in the business for the current season.
Manchester Untied went on to win the current Premier League season, with one game left to play. However, when the final game of the season was played, Untied went on to beat their closest rivals (http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 and Manchester City), by a massive nine point margin, which made this league triumph the biggest in the last ten years.
Throughout the course of the season, Ferguson and his United went on to remain unbeaten at Old Trafford and went on to suffer only four losses in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 by going one up on the Reds 18 League titles.
When reporting to the award ceremony via a video link, Ferguson went on to state: "It's a wonderful honour - it has been a fantastic season for us in the most difficult league in the world"
The manager then went on to take this opportunity to back former Chelsea manager, Carlo Ancelotti, who was sacked on the last day of the season and went on to state: "Carlo you are a fantastic man and you have showed great courage in coming to the dinner tonight, well done"
Nonetheless, despite Ferguson being hands down the greatest manager in the Premier League’s history, he has managed to only win the manager of the year award, on three occasions – with this being his third. On the other hand, the manager is now level on awards with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-c10409 Moyes.
It is easy to see why Ferguson went on to win the prestigious award this time around. The manager managed to take a rather ordinary United team (when compared to their standards) and helped them go all the way. Often, during the season, it became apparent that the only thing keeping United from faltering was Ferguson.
The manager has become the heart and soul of the Red Devils and it seems close to impossible, to imagine him ever hanging up his managerial coat at the club.
Nonetheless, the manager is currently hoping for this award to not be the last of the season for him. At the moment, Ferguson along with United are looking to take on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 at Wembley in the final game of the UEFA Champions League .
