Premier League Update: Chelsea, Everton, Fulham
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 Manager Carlo Ancelotti has full faith in his club and believes that the team can bounce back from their slump in form. He is of the view that the recent 4-0 win over Bolton would turn things around for the club. The manager has eyes set on defeating
Manchester United next to have a chance of lifting the Premier League trophy. Chelsea were in the worst form of the past decade and a half, when they managed just 2 wins out of 12 Premier League games. However, they seem to be getting back to their best and
Ancelotti is now looking to keep his aims high. Chelsea have to face Man United twice in the Premier League, and the manager claimed that the league would be dependent on the results of these two matches.
“That is the end of the bad moment. It was an important performance and now we have to look forward with confidence. To close the gap is not going to be easy. At this moment Manchester United are so far in front. But step by step, we can do it, although
obviously we have to win the games against them,” stated the Chelsea coach.
EVERTON
Everton midfielder Seamus Coleman has been included in the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Republic-of-Ireland-c2987 provisional 29 man squad for the Nations Cup. Coleman is in good form this season, having already scored five times. He extended his stay at Merseyside last week by signing a
4 and a half year contract. Coleman already has been in the Ireland squad two times before but is yet to receive his first cap for Ireland.
FULHAM
Fulham striker Andy Johnson has confessed that he couldn’t wait to make his comeback to the club following his knee surgery. The player managed a brilliant performance for the Cottagers in their 2-0 win over Stoke City and was the provider of the goal for
Clint Dempsey. Johnson was a constant threat throughout the match.
Andy made a brief come back in October and Fulham took their time to utilize his services. The Briton had to make a lot of cameo appearances before actually making his first start. However, with so many games stacked up near the Christmas time, the player
suffered a thigh sprain and was only able to make his first start against Stoke this weekend.
"Maybe, yeah. You just don't know. When your body feels right, there's no point waiting an extra two or three weeks. You might as well just join in. That's how I felt. My knee felt really good. I came back from my knee injury probably three, four, five weeks
quicker than everyone expected and, yeah, you always get those little niggles, hamstring niggles, thigh, quad, stuff like that," stated the 29-year-old player.
