Premier League Update: http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pepe-Reina-c29672 commits future to Liverpool
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 keeper and Spanish international, Pepe Reina has gone on to end weeks of speculation by finally committing his future to Liverpool. The player has gone on to admit that he is finally happy with the way things are shaping up at the club and the
management that Kenny Dalglish is imposing at Anfield, which the player would love to be a part of.
Once Liverpool lost their spot in the UEFA Champions League and saw http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 part ways with the team, it was reported that the keeper was uncertain about his future at the club. In fact the player had been caught in such a dilemma, that he had gone
on to state that love for a club is one thing, but playing football at the highest level is another.
The 28 year old keeper was reported to be on his way to either Manchester United or http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429, however it seems like both those Premier League giants are going to have to wait just a little longer to get their hands on the keeper.
When talking about his future plans and the possibility of staying at the club, Reina is reported to have said: "I am looking forward to next season"
"We have had excellent news on Kenny's contract [being made permanent, first-team coach] Steve Clarke's and all of the technical staff. We are heading in the right direction and we are optimistic.
"I have always said [I am looking forward to next season]. Of course there was a bit of doubt back in December and January because we were not even close to where we are now.
"I think by making the right steps and taking them, we can all see the difference between now and then. That's why we are now optimistic about the future and are looking forward."
It is high time that Reina finally went on to decide what he wanted to do with his future. The player’s uncertainty had not only left him feeling rather confused, but also cast a major shadow over the future of Liverpool. Had Reina decided to part ways with
the team, then Liverpool would have gone on a mad search to find a replacement keeper, who would be half decent when compared to the keeper. However, it now seems like Dalglish can spend his transfer budget on improving other aspects of his squad.
All in all, the way things are going at the Liverpool camp, it wouldn’t be surprising to see them regain their former glory once again – starting next season.
