Premier League Update: http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Turkey-c3026 manager Guus Hiddink still advices Chelsea
Guus Hiddink, who has been a long term target for Chelsea as their manager, has gone on to reveal that despite being coach of the Turkish national team, he has also been advising Chelsea all along. At the same time, the Dutchman has revealed that he has
also received offers Ajax and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281, to act as an advisor.
Hiddink went on to manager Chelsea on a temporary basis, during the 2008 – 2009 season. The manager came on in the latter part of the season and went on to help the team win the FA Cup. However, the only reason he took the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 was because he was free from
his duty as being the Russian manager. Nonetheless, due to his brilliant run-in with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786, he was offered the same position with the Turkish national side and in February 2010, he went on to accept that offer.
Just when it seemed like the manager was out of the Chelsea D.N.A, he has gone on to reveal that he has been advising the club for the last two years, with the two Dutch sides (PSV and Ajax), also seeking his services.
Hiddink when talking about Chelsea is reported to have said: "Everything is doing well with Chelsea,"
"When I left there 18 months ago, I advised the club from that moment to recruit well. Now they are busy with such matters and now and then, I take part in that process. It takes up little time and therefore it goes well with my job with the Turkish national
team."
The manager then went on to turn his attention to PSV and Ajax and how the two teams were also seeking his approval, but then went on to state the limitations of that potential job.
"Being an advisor to a club of the stature of PSV, Ajax and Chelsea is not something you can do on a casual basis. I have said the same thing to PSV director Tiny Sanders, when he spoke to me about the matter. Of course a telephone call is always possible but
working in an official capacity is something else.”
Considering the fact that Hiddink has been a silent advisor to Chelsea for the last two years, one must applaud what he has done for the club. The manager helped set in stone, the foundations on which the club should progress and from the looks of things,
he seems to have done a rather good job of it.
Nonetheless, due to his ongoing affiliation with Chelsea, he is still being regarded as one of the favourites to take over as the new permanent manager, should Carlo Ancelotti be shown the door at the end of the season.
