Premier League Update: Arsenal looking to make bid for Blackburn’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chris-c9006 Samba
It is being reported that Arsenal are looking to start off their summers spending spree, by making a move for Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 defender, Chris Samba. The team is apparently looking to try and land the player for as much as eight million pounds and are hoping that their offer would help them secure the player.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 previously tried to land Samba in the January transfer window and came awfully close to landing the player.
Samba, who went on to admit to nearly making the move to the Emirates is quoted to have said: ‘Everybody knows that I am an ambitious player. I think a move to Arsenal was very close in January but that is life.’
Should Arsenal go on to land the signature of Samba, it could prove to be one of the best singings that the team has made in their recent history. The defender has proven his worth in the Premier League over the last couple of seasons and has looked to be one of the best defenders around.
The towering defender, could contribute a whole lot more to Arsenal and on paper, he appears to be the ideal player to come into the side. Samba, for starters would help get the average height of the team go up by a couple of inches. At the same time, Arsenal’s aerial ability would take a major push in the positive direction.
At the moment, Arsenal have been exposed time and time again on set pieces and that is due to the fact that the team, just doesn’t have players who are good in the air. On the other hand, Samba happens to be one of the best players to have in your team to win aerial challenges. The player can also use his height advantage in the opposing half and tends to knock in the occasional goal or two.
Samba has also proven to be a leader during his stay at Blackburn, which means that he could help guide and direct the Arsenal back-line to perfection.
All in all, a move for Samba seems to be the ideal singing that Arsenal have been longing for. However, that being said, even if Arsenal do land the defender, they will still have to make a move for at least one more defender, to have a complete set of defenders.
At the moment, the eight million pound fee is being stated as the ideal fee to land the player, but that fee might drop down a bit, should Samba encourage the deal to go through.
