Premier League: Wigan v Chelsea half time report
Wigan 0 Chelsea 1

Chelsea have the lead at half time in their late kick-off against Wigan.
Florent Malouda scored for the Premier League champions after Ashley Cole picked out Frank Lampard, whose shot was parried by Wigan goalkeeper Chris Kirkland. Malouda was able to finish and score his third goal of the season.
It was Chelsea’s first shot on target as Wigan controlled the majority of the first half.
Maynor Figueroa forced Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech into a decent save on 10 minutes, as Wigan began the game brightly and showed no signs of suffering from their 4-0 home defeat to Blackpool last weekend.
Chelsea’s first effort came on 15 minutes, but the shot from Michael Essien from a long way out went sailing over the bar.
Wigan’s top scorer last season Hugo Rodallega had a free kick that was hit straight at Cech from a long distance, and then on 27 minutes after a neat passage of play had a shot which he fired on target, which didn’t cause any problems for Cech.
Wigan could have been forgiven for thinking about the last time they played Chelsea, which was on the last day of last season in an 8-0 thumping, but they will feel they should be level as Chelsea have yet to turn up, although they have the lead.
