Premier League: Wolves stun Manchester City
A second-half goal from David Edwards earned unfancied Wolves a dramatic 2-1 victory against big-spenders Manchester City at Molineux.
The midfielder struck with half an hour left on the clock to help earn Mick McCarthy's side a precious second league win of the campaign.
Emmanuel Adebayor had opened the scoring, but Nenad Milijas' controlled strike levelled proceedings. It was Edwards who was the hero of the afternoon, though. His goal was enough to secure Wolves their first win since the opening day of the season.
Meanwhile, league leaders Chelsea left it late against Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park. Benjani gave the hosts the perfect start with a header on the 20th minute. The Blues then responded through Nicolas Anelka five minutes before the break, and Carlo Ancelotti's men were rewarded for their efforts as Branislav Ivanovic headed in five minutes before final whistle.
At the Emirates Stadium, fellow title-contenders Arsenal left it even later against bottom side West Ham. Alex Song was the hero for the Gunners, heading in Gael Clichy's cross with just minutes left on the clock, to keep his side in second place.
Elsewhere, Fulham secured all three points against Wigan at Craven Cottage. A first-half brace from USA international, Clint Dempsey, sealed the hosts their second win of the campaign, and condemned the Latics to their first away defeat of the campaign.
And at Goodison Park, a second-half strike from Yakubu – his first league goal of the season – ensured Everton's unbeaten run continued against Stoke City.
