Premier League fixture: Bolton Wanderers versus Everton – Full time
Bolton Wanderers played host to Everton at the Reebok Stadium, in a scheduled game in the Barclay's Premier League.
Bolton were going into the game with the thought of closing in on Sunderland, who were sitting on the seventh spot, just one above Bolton.
On the other hand, Everton were looking to pick up all three points in order to get as far ahead of the relegation zone, as they probably could.
However, the Toffees task was made tough prior to kick-off, as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Victor-Anichebe-c36018 replaced him in the starting eleven.
The match kicked off, with neither side creating any early chances from the kick-off. However, all of that changed in the 10th minute.
Bolton were awarded a free-kick on the left flank, which was taken by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gary-Cahill-c14439, who headed the ball into the back of the net, to give Bolton a very early
lead.
Bolton seemed to really be in the game to claim all three points, and that was fairly evident by the determination shown by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Leighton-Baines-c21987.
However, Elmander's tackle was a little late and he ended up picking the only yellow card of the game on the 12th minute mark.
On the 23rd minute mark, Zack Knight made a super tackle on Anichebe.
However, the Everton forward's trailing leg seemed to catch the Bolton defender in an awkward way and as a result, Knight was down and out for quite some time. Not being able to carry on, Knight was taken off three minutes later, with Wheater coming on to
replace him.
The first half eventually came to a close, with Bolton having scored the only goal of the half and having thoroughly out-played Everton.
The second half kicked-off with neither side looking to threaten the other. At times it seemed as if both teams had understood what the other wanted to do and were starting to cancel each other out.
As a result, both teams made a change to their playing eleven, Matty Taylor made way for Chung-Yong Lee in the Bolton side, while Seamus Coleman, and, Bilyaletdinow, made way for Beckford and Osman on the Everton side on the 60th minute mark.
However, the changes seem to have taken a better effect on Bolton as just five minutes later, they had their second goal of the night.
A poorly cleared ball fell towards Lee, who headed it into the path of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tim-Howard-c35095 with ease in the 66th minute.
It seemed as if Bolton had taken a three goal lead in the 79th minute, when Holden smashed a shot into the roof of the net.
However, the goal was disallowed, because it seemed that Sturridge had played the ball towards Holden after it had gone over the line and was given as a goal-kick instead.
With just a matter of minutes separating Bolton from three points, the team decided to go all out and bombard the visitors. Despite doing just that, the team could not find a third goal on the night and the match eventually ended with the score being two
goals to nil in favour of Bolton.
The line-ups on the night were as follows:
Bolton: Jaaskelainen, Ricketts, Cahill, Knight, Robinson, Elmander, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kevin-Davies-c20716, Sturridge;
