Premier League fixtures announced
The Premier League fixtures were announced today, and the stand out match on the opening day is undoubtedly Liverpool against Arsenal at Anfield.
Champions Chelsea will begin the defence of their title at home to newly promoted side West Bromwich Albion.
Manchester United will also be playing at home against championship winners Newcastle United.
Ian Holloway’s Blackpool have a home fixture against Wigan Athletic, while Tottenham Hotspur will play Roberto Mancini’s Manchester City at White Hart Lane.
Aston Villa have a tricky home game against Avram Grant’s West Ham United, while Villa’s rivals Birmingham City are away to Sunderland, and Wolverhampton Wanderers are at home to Stoke City.
Blackburn have a home tie against Everton, with Bolton taking on Fulham at the Reebok stadium.
