Arsenal played host to the high flying West Brom, as the Gunners were looking to close the gap between them and the top four.
Given the fact that the Gunners were on a two game losing streak, this match was not going to be as easy as the North London club would have wanted it to be. At the same time, West Brom were going to try and test their luck in the game, as they looked to extend their stay in the top four.
The match kicked off with both the teams attacking each other, but as the match progressed, Arsenal slowly started to dominate the way things were going in the game.
Then in the 25th minute, Arsenal were awarded a spot kick. It initially looked like Reid took out Cazorla in the box, which resulted in the official calling for a spot kick. However, replays suggested that Cazorla may have made the most out of the situation in order to win the set peice.
Arteta went on to take the penalty and sent his effort crashing into the back of the net with ease.
As the match continued, Arsenal went on to constantly create chances for themselves but failed to find the back of the net.
Then in the 63rd minute, the team was given another helping hand. Oxlade-Chamberlain was taken out in the box, and the referee went on to point to eh spot once again.
In the build up, it looked like the young http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 played had committed a foul himself, but the referee felt that he had not done so.
Arteta and Giroud went on to discuss just who would take the spot kick, and in the end it was Arteta who lined the shot up. The midfielder went on to take an identical penalty to his first one, and sent the ball straight down the middle.
As a result of those two penalty goals, which Arteta scored, Arsenal went on to pick up all three points from the game, as they finally put an end to their winless run.
The result also saw the Gunners to go within two points of West Brom in the Premier League table.
