Tottenham took on Norwich City at home, in a game that the home side thought they could easily win.
Given the transfers that the club made on the deadline day of the transfer window, they were looking stronger than ever and were the hands down favourites to win the game.
However, once the game kicked off, things didn’t go according to Tottenham’s plans.
In the 9th minute, Norwich gave Tottenham an early scare as Russell Martin headed an effort goal wards. His effort was hit with such power that Friedel could only watch, as his attempted save bounced off the bar.
From then on, the game quieted down quite a bit, with neither side really managing to get the better of the other. Both teams had pops at goal, but all their efforts were easily gathered by the goal keepers.
Two minutes before the end of the first half, Norwich came close to scoring again. Snodgrass headed the ball right at goal and Friedel had to pull out one of the best saves he had ever made to keep the ball out. Jackson tried to fumble the ball in on the
rebound, but failed to do so.
The second half saw Moussa Dembele come on and make his debut for the Spurs.
His debut turned into a dream start, as he scored the opening goal of the game in the 68th minute mark. Defoe passed the ball to the midfielder, who then did a little drag back to create space for himself. With none of his team mates being available
to receive a pass, he went on to shoot at goal, as he found the back of the net.
Despite conceding, Norwich continued to attack Tottenham until the very end. In the 84th minute the visitors managed to get a goal back, as Snodgrass scored. The ball was headed on by Martin and Holt, as the Norwich player saw the ball drop to
him, before he snapped the ball into the back of the net.
However, things turned from bad to worse for Tottenham as Huddlestone was shown a red card in the dying stages of the game.
Nonetheless, the match ended with both the teams being level at one goal apiece.
