Following a thrashing in the first half, which saw United go up by three goals to nil, both the Wolverhampton Wanderers and Manchester United stepped on to the pitch, to try and play things out in the second half.
However, based on things were going in the first half, just about everyone knew that the Red Devils were going to take away all three points from the game, as they extended their lead at the top of the table.
In the 56th minute, Javier Hernandez went on to score United’s fourth goal, as he converted from a  corner routine that United seemed to have perfected in their training sessions.
A short corner was played to the Mexican forward and with no Wolves player marking him, he went on to send the ball into the back of the net with ease.
Soon after, Hernandez went on to score his second and United’s fifth goal of the game in the 61st minute. Welbeck played a pass to Valencia, via a cheeky back heel flick and the winger then crossed the ball towards Hernandez. The striker then
went on to sweep the ball into the back of the net.
Following the fifth goal, United went on to continue attacking their opponents, but the team failed to score any more goals.
However, following the win, United are sitting four points ahead of Manchester City, who now have a game in hand.
Given the momentum that United seem to have developed, they are more than likely to keep hold of the top spot for a number of weeks.
The way the season is going, the title could end up being decided on the 30th of April, when United and Manchester City face off against each other.
Nonetheless, should City suffer any more slip ups, they could see a very hopeful season end up with them taking nothing away from it.
The line ups for the game were as follows:
