Premier League news: Carlos Tevez drama continues at Manchester City
Want-away Manchester City skipper Carlos Tevez is back to training sessions at Carrington training ground following a t*t-for-tat tiff between him and the club. The Argentinean had requested a transfer, citing homesickness after
four years in England. Manchester City refused to release him in the middle of his contract period, expressing in a statement that they were “disappointed by this situation and particularly with the actions of Carlos' representative."
Carlos Tevez responded with a statement of his own, saying that his feelings had not changed and that his relations with certain executives and individuals at the club were beyond repair.
The 26-year-old striker returned to training sessions on Tuesday after he was given a four-day break in Tenerife by manager Robert Mancini. Mancini is reported to have gone to Italy to prepare for City’s final Europa League group
game against Juventus, but is expected to talk to Tevez on Friday. Tevez will not be travelling to Turin with the squad for the match. After Thursday’s game against Juventus, City will not have another match until next Monday when they face Everton at Eastlands.
It is expected that Tevez will be rested for this game, although that will leave City short of attacking options if Roque Santa Cruz is also not on the squad.
Meanwhile, Chelsea is reported to be very interested in making a bid for Tevez in the January transfer window.
