I think Arsenal will be genuine title contenders next season, whether http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380 stays or leaves. Firstly, if he stays, Arsenal will have one of the best attacks in the league (arguably Europe). If he leaves, Arsenal are sure to sign a replacement,
as they already have shown their intent in the transfer market this season. With http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Santi-Cazorla-c32505, the club has addressed its creative problems and with Diaby back to fitness, Arsenal have decent strength in depth.
Their midfield currently boasts of Tomas Rosicky, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gervinho-c14755, Olivier Giroud,
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lukas-Podolski-c22896 and Robin Van Persie. Now that’s an impressive attacking lineup as any.
The only problem the Gunners will face will be their defence and the threat of injuries at the back. Injuries to key players has always been Arsenal’s undoing, and perhaps this will be the only hurdle in their bid for the title.
Manchester United
Manchester United were strong favourites for the second spot, but at the moment, the club’s squad is in question. United have signed a potentially world class attacking midfielder in the shape of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Shinji-Kagawa-c33364, but have missed out on a number of other
transfer targets, namely http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luka-Modric-c22857.
The club has one of the best defences in the league, but has lacked creativity in the middle of the park, and desperately need to replace http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paul-Scholes-c29394. Scholes came out of retirement to the Red Devils’ aid last season, and may have another season in
him. United however need a box-to-box midfielder to replace the ‘Ginger Assassin’ and give them that edge they always had over other teams. Since they haven’t addressed this issue yet, I think they’ll finish third, but still contend for the title.
Newcastle United/Tottenham Hotspur
Fourth spot was a tough one, but I genuinely think it will either go to Tottenham or Newcastle. Chelsea have a very strong squad on paper, but I think the team will only be successful in cup competitions and not have enough chemistry to compete in
the league. With an overcrowded midfield, there will be problems keeping big egos happy, and personally, I feel that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Di Matteo is not exactly a league manager.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 are currently undergoing a transition, with a new manager and new players coming in. The change of football mentality and approach will take a whole season to be properly implemented, and Liverpool will once again miss out on a Champions
League spot. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 and Liverpool are however, my firm favourites for the FA Cup and the League Cup.
Newcastle and Tottenham will battle it out for the fourth spot. Both teams have strong squads that have played football together for a while and showed us last season that they are capable of going the distance in the league and taking the game to
the so called ‘top four’.
Next season looks set to be the toughest and most intense season ever. The level of competition in the English top flight is rising with every passing season, and it has no doubt proved that it is indeed the best league in the world.
