Premier League quintet track Marin
Werder Bremen star Marko Marin is attracting interest from five of the Premier League’s biggest clubs. Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham are all keeping tabs
on the 21-year-old who has been dubbed the ‘German Messi.’
Marin has been the subject of interest in the past, as he and his former Werder Bremen teammate Mesut Ozil have both captured the attention of countless European clubs. But Ozil impressed
at this summer’s World Cup, earning himself a lucrative move to Real Madrid, while Marin could only muster two substitute appearances in South Africa, making it difficult to put himself in the shop window.
Marin has since impressed against Tottenham in the Champions League though, no doubt dazzling any watching scouts as he tore into Spurs’ defence (on numerous occasions), scoring with an
excellent 20-yard strike in the process. At just 21, he represents an excellent investment, although any interested party would have to fork out in the region of £15m for his services.
The German was snapped up by his current club for £7m just over a year ago, but Bremen would certainly be looking to make a tidy profit on the youngster, following a good spell with the
Bundesliga club. Having been nicknamed the ‘German Messi’ certainly speaks volumes for how highly-regarded the player is, so no wonder top Premier League clubs are declaring their interest. His pace, directness and trickery would be an asset to any side, so
it’s surely only a matter of time before a big European club picks him up.
The January transfer window may well be a no-go though, as the player has already played in the Champions League, making him unable to play for another club in the competition. There’s
no doubt the Werder Bremen man is destined for big things though, as he looks to join a long line of up-and-coming young Germans who continue to impress on the big stage.
