Premier League reaches prime as Wade faces Hamilton
The schedule for the upcoming Premier League of darts has been announced and, believe it or not, it has unlocked yet another package of excitement as far as darts is concerned.
The very first encounter in the event is between Andy Hamilton and James Wade. Betting is all high for the hot favourite of the encounter.
Hamilton is making his debut in the Premier League, along with Kevin Painter, whereas this is not the first time that Wade will be on the oche of the Premier League.
Experts are still not sure who to speculate on, as for them both are equally talented and capable enough to create upsets that are beyond anyone’s imagination.
It is therefore important to understand what are the pros and cons that lie on each end. The risks and the loopholes each player can effectively capitalise upon to capsize the other.
Considering the case of Hamilton first, it is important to understand that ‘the hammer’ of darts is making his debut as far as the Premier League is concerned.
Needless to mention that he has been the recent runner-up in Ladbrokes World Championship, he is very properly acquainted with the dynamics of darts and the way it needs to be handled and countered.
Hamilton has been able to surprise most of the other senior players out there, players who never expected Hamilton to make it into the finale of the grand event of darts.
Hence, it was definitely a surprise for many. Since he has already established his reputation as an astounding package, it is important that he must be dealt seriously.
Furthermore, it is also important to mention here that Hamilton was not an easy opponent for Lewis.
He was determined to clinch victory until the last moment and did not provide a single opportunity for Lewis to take advantage of.
Hence, from the very beginning, he turned out to be a strong opponent for the reigning champion.
On the other hand, considering Wade as the best player will work, as the darts player has been able to establish his reputation as ‘sneakily active’ when it comes to making upsets in the game.
Wade, however, has been a little disappointing in recent times, especially when the results of Ladbrokes are analysed.
Prior to the championship, veteran darts player Eric Bristow regarded him to be a potential candidate in winning the tournament, obviously after the ever-favourite Phil Taylor.
He had a sneaky feeling that Wade could grab the cup because of the excellence that he was able to demonstrate in different events.
Nevertheless, it was in the semi-final when he completely lost control after losing to Lewis.
No doubt, the match was extremely thrilling and filled with exciting turns and twists, it provided a feeling that may be Wade was mainly being sensationalised much.
He either is not of that stature or he lacks in the category of talent due to which he has not been able to perform that well as compared to what was anticipated from him.
Additionally, another important aspect allied with this is that Wade might eye this as an opportunity to reinstate his credibility and reputation back in the game.
It is an effective platform that is being provided to him in the form of Premier League that will help him in regaining his status as the silent killer in the game of darts.
